    Before you book

Everything here is the same answer you would get on a call. If something is missing, ask and I will add it.

    Process & terms

    Who is this for?

People who have a version of themselves they have never seen a picture of. Who suspect they are more interesting than their photographs suggest. Who want to be built into something rather than snapped.

    Who is this not for?

Anyone who wants a documentary photographer — someone who stands back and records what happens. I work the other way: I plan the light and the setting first, then direct what happens inside it. That applies whether I am photographing a CEO or a family of five. If you want me invisible, I am the wrong photographer, and I would rather say so here.

    Do you photograph families?

Only as directed editorial sessions — the Family Portrait, $795, up to six immediate family members. If you want relaxed, candid family photography, I will happily point you to someone who does it well.

How does a booking actually start?

You send an inquiry, we have a concept conversation, and I put the scope and price in writing. You sign the agreement electronically and pay a 50% retainer, which reserves the date. The balance is due before the session. Nothing is charged before you have read the terms.

    What happens on the day?

The location is already scouted and the light is planned. You arrive with the wardrobe we agreed on. I direct the entire session — where to stand, where to look, what to do with your hands. Nobody arrives knowing how to be photographed.

How do I choose the images?

Proofs go to a private gallery only you can open. You select the images that come back retouched. The gallery stays available for a limited window after final payment, so download everything when it opens.

How long until I have the photographs?

7–10 business days from your selections. Rush delivery can be added — $195 for 3 business days or $250 for 24 hours — arranged before the shoot.

    What format do I receive?

Full-resolution originals suitable for print, plus web-sized files for sharing. The unedited captures are not delivered.

Do I need hair and makeup?

It is not included and it is not required. For most concepts it helps. If you want it, arrange it yourself or tell me and I will tell you honestly whether the direction calls for it.

Can I use the images for my business?

Yes. Every portrait and headshot session includes the Professional Use license: worldwide and in perpetuity, on your own LinkedIn and social profiles, your employer's website and biography page, speaker and press materials, book jackets, and your own website and marketing. Commercial Advertising — paid media, third-party campaigns, product advertising, resale and exclusivity — is quoted separately. Family sessions include personal use with print permission. Copyright stays with me in every case.

    Do you travel?

Yes. Within 20 miles of Overland Park is included. Beyond that, mileage or a per-trip travel quote applies, agreed before the date is reserved. I have worked across Australia, the Philippines, the US Gulf and Thailand, and I will go where the story lives if you cover the travel.

What if it rains or the location falls through?

Every outdoor concept has a fallback location held in advance. A reschedule caused by weather or access failing costs you nothing.

What if I need to move the date?

Tell me as early as you can. The retainer moves with you to the new date. It is not refundable, because the date it reserved is one I turned other work away for.
